Saga health cover offered to car insurance customers

Saga has announced that it will be offering accident healthcare cover to its car insurance customers.

The offer will cost new and existing Saga insurance customers the equivalent of £3.95 per month on top of their car insurance premiums and will offer them up to £1 million worth of cover for follow-up healthcare related to traffic accident injuries.

Saga's accident healthcare policy will cover the cost of staying in a private hospital for up to 180 days as well as consultants' and specialists' fees.

Andrew Goodsell, chief executive of Saga Group, said: "Even a minor road accident can require medical treatment that can be a drawn out process.

"At times like these, older people in particular value quick access to the high quality care that private heathcare provides."

Saga specialises in providing insurance for people over the age of 50.
