Commenting upon courses which are designed to make motorists more safe involving road incidents, Andrew Howard, head of road safety at the AA, stated that ascertaining whether these drivers, who "haven't been terribly responsible" have improved throws up several problems for insurers.
"Insurance companies tend to want to see proof that people who have been on the course come out on the end of it as safer drivers," he explained.
Mr Howard added that this is problematic as "it takes a very long time" and "there are a vast amount of people going through the courses".
As of today, drivers who display unsafe behaviour while on the roads will be targeted in North Wales and, if found to be a danger to others, will be sent on courses run by the AA Charitable Trust.
