Abbey credit cards 'set to rebrand on June 15th'

Holders of Abbey credit cards will find a replacement of their current plastic in their post boxes this month, as the company pushes ahead with its rebranding plans since being overtaken by Santander.

As of Monday 15th June, all Abbey credit cards will undergo the change, with new ones bearing the red and white Santander logo and current ones being replaced altogether.

To celebrate the adjustments, Santander credit card holders will be charged no fees on transactions in foreign countries through June and July.

Roger Lovering, managing director of Santander Cards, commented: "Since Abbey brought its credit cards business back in-house in 2007, our commitment has been to provide our customers with innovative and cost-effective spending options that offer them ongoing value."

Abbey provides financial services to 18 million customers and will be fully rebranded as Santander next year.
