Brits 'reluctant to cut back on their TV packages'

Britons would rather reduce their spending on things such as holidays and eating out than sacrifice their TV packages, it has been revealed.

According to Legal & General's Changing Face of British Homes survey, just 14 per cent of Brits would be willing to reduce their spending on TV channels compared to 42 per cent who said they would slash their eating out bills to save cash.

A further 30 per cent said they would consider cutting back on holidays, while 28 per cent are not opposed to putting their home improvement plans on hold.

Marketing director for Legal & General's insurance arm Garry Skelton said: "It appears that Brits are reluctant to give up their satellite TV subscriptions and are prepared to undertake bigger lifestyle changes before giving up or changing their TV viewing."

It seems that some Brits are going to more extreme lengths to cut everyday costs, according to a survey from uSwitch.com, which found that British workers have pilfered items such as toilet roll, tea bags and bin liners from their offices.
