Bearing this in mind, LifeSearch has issued five tips on how adults can be sure that the life insurance policies they choose are the most suitable for them.
According to the group, the first rule is shop around, as policies offered by your current bank are not necessarily the best deal. Consulting with a firm that is not tied up to one insurer but offers several options is best, it recommends.
Secondly, signing up to the right policy is also imperative as many only cover death within a certain period of time, the organisation notes.
It adds that considering how much cover is needed, although this sounds obvious, is also vital as a sum such as £100,000 may sound like a lot now but may not suffice in even ten years' time.
The fourth tip is to consider single instead of joint life policies and finally, using a trust "is a free and simple way to ensure that the monies go to the right person quickly", the company advises.
Around seven million parents in the UK are failing to save for their children in the event that they are injured or not around to care for them, a poll conduced by Bright Grey found last week.
