Online spending 'will double' within next two years

This is according to the latest PayPal UK Online Retail Report, conducted on behalf of the group by Experian, which estimates that the amount Brits spend on online shopping will soar from £8.9 billion a year to £21.3 billion during this timeframe.
In 2011, the report calculates, consumers will spend an average of £430 per person on buying goods over the internet - a 137 per cent increase on current figures.
"Online shops have already seen phenomenal growth and by the end of 2011, when the recession is expected to be over, we'll be spending at least one in every 14 pounds online," said managing director of PayPal UK Carl Scheible.
Meanwhile, for those Brits who like to do their banking, as well as their shopping, online, The Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest have recently been praised for their commitment to security with the introduction of state-of-the-art software from Trusteer.
