Tesco Compare: Understanding energy usage key to reducing bills

Understanding just how much energy you use around the house could be the solution to lowering the cost of bills, Tesco Compare has suggested.

In a bid to help consumers save some pennies on their bills by up to 40 per cent in the warmer weather, Tesco Compare has suggested some tips on hoe you can monitor your energy consumption.

Getting an energy monitor, which are cheap and readily available, will highlight that it is smaller appliances that sometimes take up the most energy, the organisation advises.

Secondly, making sure that you do not overpay is also essential, it adds and this can be achieved by making direct debit payments and keeping a close eye on consumption.

Lastly, snapping up a good deal quickly could be a wise move, as they do not tend to be on offer for a long time, Tesco Compare recommends.

According to a poll carried out by uSwitch.com last week, 59 per cent of Brits do not fully understand their home telephone and broadband bills.
