New Abbey Business bonds launched

Abbey Business has announced the availability of two new bonds for companies this week.

Open to firms with turnovers of up to £1 million, the new Abbey Business bonds are available for periods of nine and 12 months with fixed rates.

The nine-month example offers those organisations that opt for it a rate of 2.81 per cent AER before it matures on June 1st 2010.

Lasting for a longer period, the 12-month fixed-rate business bond offers interest of 3.20 per cent gross per annum AER and matures on September 1st next year.

"This is a limited opportunity to invest anything from £50,000 to £2,000,000, with a guaranteed fixed rate, which is significantly above the current Bank of England base," explained Paula Ickinger, product executive at Abbey Business Banking.

According to research from Prudential, Brits are not placing enough emphasis upon their savings, with 16 per cent of workers who have a pension having reduced the money they put into it over the last few months.
