Virgin Money credit card 'offering 0% balance transfer fee'

Virgin Money has launched a new credit card that is offering those who sign up to it the chance to escape balance transfer fees.

It also features a zero per cent introductory rate on balance transfers for the first nine months and is available only through MoneySupermarket.com for a limited period.

Additionally, those who sign up for it can take advantage of a zero per cent introductory period on purchases, which lasts for the first three months.

"For borrowers that can clear their balance within the nine month introductory period this card is excellent value for money," said credit expert at MoneySupermarket.com Peter Harrison.

With the UK economy still in recession, this could be a welcome announcement for those looking to save a few pennies.

Virgin Money launched in 1995 and is an arm of entrepreneur Richard Branson's Virgin empire. It won the accolade of best credit card provider at the Moneyfacts Awards in 2008.
