AA Insurance says distractions cause accidents

Simon Douglas, director of the organisation, claimed that anything from nice views and art to an attractive member of the opposite sex can distract people.
As such he advised stopping at a safe place in order to enjoy a view or any other roadside feature, as an accident will ruin your trip.
He said: "There are many distractions for the modern-day driver and most can easily adjust to them, but for some drivers too much distraction could lead to a collision."
Research by AA Insurance revealed that 75 per cent of drivers find that their gaze will be averted from the road ahead if there is a beautiful view to be seen.
The company recently raised concerns over the proposal by the police to issue fixed-penalty notices for careless driving, as it felt this would trivialise the problem.
