Moneyfacts picks out outstanding pension providers

Moneyfacts has singled out a number of pension providers for praise by naming the winners of its Investment, Life and Pensions Awards.

The winner of the Best Pension Service Award was AEGON Scottish Equitable, which was also highly commended in the Personal and Group Pension Provider categories.

Personal Provider victor was Scottish Widows while Group was won by Scottish Life.

Richard Eagling, editor of Investment, Life and Pensions, claimed that the accolades are highly sought after by companies.

He added: "This year's awards clearly demonstrate that there are plenty of providers that are still managing to stand out from the crowd, despite the difficult environment facing them."

Mr Eagling remarked that all of those companies who reached the finals or won an award are market leaders who are showing the rest of the sector how to produce the very best levels of service.

Last week, independent commentator Dr Ros Altmann reported that people have "lost faith" in pensions and defined contribution schemes in particular.
