Drivers confused by insurance, says swiftcover.com

British drivers are being left confused by the wording of their car insurance policy, new research has found.

According to a survey from swiftcover.com, 42 per cent of Brits are unsure of the meaning of terms used in their car insurance policy, which could leave them at risk of financial strain should they turn out to not be covered for certain incidents.

However, other motorists could be leaving themselves at even more risk of not being covered by their policy, with 17 per cent admitting to never even reading through their car insurance documents.

Terms commonly misunderstood included "fully-comprehensive", which 17 per cent of drivers thought meant they could drive any car and a further nine per cent thought meant anyone could use their car.

Earlier this month, a poll from swiftcover.com suggested that drivers who wish to avoid being involved in road rage incidents should avoid motorists with stickers on their vehicles.
