Extra contents cover from the Post Office

The Post Office has announced it is to increase the amount of cover given to its home contents insurance customers over the festive period.

Policy holders will see their cover rise by ten per cent, as the Post Office gives them extra protection for the Christmas gifts they have at home.

In addition, those customers who hold both their home buildings and contents insurance with the institution can receive £25 cash back.

Alternatively, they have the option of receiving £25 winter fuel voucher 60 days after they took out the policy.

Post Office head of home insurance Richard Pennant-Jones said: "By automatically raising the level of cover over the Christmas period, Post Office customers can enjoy the party season safe in the knowledge that their gifts are fully protected should the worst happen."

For consumers looking to take out a mortgage, the Post Office recently announced it was to change the rate on all their products, with a rate of 2.49 per cent available.
