In addition, almost one in ten homes will have to part with at least £100 to get their property looking back to normal following breakages or damages to their belongings.
An estimated 57.3 million plates, glasses and cups will be smashed during gatherings over the festive period.
Darren Black, head of home insurance at Confused.com said: "It's quite staggering to find out exactly how damage much Brits will be left with after seeing in 2010. It's often expensive to host a party anyway, without adding on the cleaning and repair bill when everyone has left."
Consumers who are looking to get some of this money back may want to consider switching their energy supplier, with Confused.com reporting that npower's Sign Online 17 plan, at £907 a year for the average dual fuel customer, is the cheapest on the market.
