HSBC announces annual sale

The shops have already started their January sales and now it is the turn of the banks.

Financial services provider HSBC has announced details of its sixth annual sale, with new deals available to consumers online and in branches from today (January 4th).

There are a number of discounts on current accounts, as well as offers on HSBC's Fixed Rate Saver product.

Consumers can also save up to 50 per cent off the cost of insurance premiums.

Brendan Cook, general manager of retail propositions at the bank, said that all over the world people are making new year's resolutions and noted that sorting out finances is often high on the list.

"This year, we want to make it easier for our customers to keep that resolution. We are providing a wide range of offers and services which will help our customers with their financial future, getting their 2010 off to a great start," he added.

In related news, Lloyds TSB recently advised people to plan ahead when it comes to their spending in 2010.
