Leeds Building Society unveils new fixed-rate bonds

Leeds Building Society has announced the launch of a range of two, three and five-year fixed-rate bonds.

The company's sales and marketing director Kim Rebecchi said the new products "offer good value" in light of the Bank of England's base interest rate being at its historic 0.5 per cent low and suggested they offer a number of the characteristics that savers want at the moment.

"Customers will be looking to secure a competitive guaranteed return that also provides peace of mind and access to some of the funds at any time, without notice or penalty," she remarked.

The bonds will pay a return of up to 4.5 per cent and investors are able to access up to ten per cent of initial capital at any time.

Leeds Building Society also launched a five-year fixed-rate Isa this month and boasted that the 4.6 per cent tax free account is "market leading".
