Confused.com comments on First:utility meters

Consumers may soon be able to make savings on their fuel bills by using a new meter from First:utility.

Commenting on this development, Confused.com's head of energy Gary Kloet has said that customers who opt for the new method will not only be receiving the cheapest tariff available in seven areas of the UK, they will be paying for their actual consumption rather than their estimated use.

With the iSave2 tariff, subscribers are asked to submit their meter readings four times a year, with each reading providing them with a £5 incentive.

As a result, customers can claim back up to £20 a year on the cost of their bills.

Older people who are looking for ways to reduce their energy bills may be eligible for a series of benefits, such as free loft and wall insulations if they are over 70 years old.
