Sainsbury's 7.9% loan still on offer

A personal loan from Sainsbury's Finance, offering borrowers a rate of 7.9 per cent on their debt, is still on offer.

Shoppers who hold a Nectar card with the supermarket have until January 26th to apply for a loan between £7,500 and £15,000.

According to MoneyExpert.co.uk, the average rate of interest on a loan of this size is 10.4 per cent.

Individuals who take advantage of the offer will receive double Nectar points for two years and have between one and seven years to repay their loan.

Steven Baillie, head of loans, Sainsbury's Finance, said: "All of our loans customers enjoy one of the most competitive rates available and those who shop at Sainsbury's will be rewarded further, with double Nectar points on their shopping for two years."

Some shoppers may be looking to cover the cost of their Christmas, after Sainsbury's reported in December that around £10.6 billion would be withdrawn from ATMs nationwide in that month alone.
