Virgin Media 100 MB broadband welcomed by uSwitch.com

Virgin Media's announcement that it is to roll out 100Mb broadband has been welcomed by uSwitch.com.

The television and broadband provider has indicated that it will introduce the high-speed internet offering to households across the country by the end of 2010.

Research by uSwitch.com indicated that 45 per cent of consumers are not happy with the speed of their broadband connection, despite Ofcom regulations demanding greater clarity for broadband customers.

Matthew Wheeler, a communications expert with uSwitch.com, praised Virgin Media for leading the way with a product that is set to become the fastest commercially available.

Mr Wheeler said: "The need for speed is a key driver of customer satisfaction and the larger providers are now sitting up and taking notice. It is great that Virgin Media have laid down the gauntlet".

Earlier in February, uSwitch.com urged consumers to be more aware of their energy tariffs and to examine competitor deals to find the most affordable option for them.
