Barclays Wealth DRP gives 'competitive return'

Lisa Chaudhuri, vice-president, of Barclays Wealth, suggested that a lot of investors were nervous about the long-term sustainability of their finances in relation to market growth.

She said: "Easily understandable products offering competitive returns without putting capital at risk still play a big part in our offering."

Ms Chaudhuri also added that the six-year DRP gives a 44 per cent return as long as the index is above the starting level for maturity, in spite of the growth of the general economy.

If investors decide to withdraw from the fund, the capital will be highlighted as risk.

It was recently announced that Barclays Wealth decided to sponsor the Emirates Airlines International Festival for Literacy (EAIFL) and has provided regular funding to literary events, such as the Hay Festival of Literature in Hay-on-Wye.
