Principality Building Society Isa investors told to hurry

James Wright, marketing director of the organisation, said investing in an Isa has greater advantages than just the tax-free benefits and added that if more people started to save this would create positive repercussions for the greater economy.

He added: "For savers who haven't opened an Isa this tax-year or still haven't reached this year's annual limit of £3,600, the deadline for doing so is fast approaching."

A Principality survey found 50.9 per cent of people believe it is more important than ever to save yet over three-quarters remain sceptical and say that they will not save because of low interest rates.

Willis Owen, a discount broker, commented that Alistair Darling's Budget proposal to increase the Isa allowance in sequence with rising inflation represents a positive move for account holders but this may make customers confused.
