AA electronic insurance certificates provide a "durable medium"

Simon Douglas, director of the company, said use of the electronic technology has been guaranteed by the legislative approval of transport minister Paul Clark, with electronic delivery now officially recognised as a "durable medium"

He added: "It is good for customers because their documents will be available promptly and it overcomes the necessity to apply for a duplicate if the original is lost."

The electronic process is password-protected and account holders can either view their certificate as a pdf file or print it out themselves.

It will be ready for people to use on April 20th since the order was lawfully approved in Parliament yesterday (March 31st).

AA insurance recently launched a health insurance policy which provides existing members with free cover for up to two months and a discount when making an online application.
