Leeds Building Society Isa launched with £1 opening balance

Kim Rebecchi, sales and marketing director at the building society, said the offer was "market leading" and provided an opportunity for customers to get value for money.

She added: "Unlike many other Isa products in the market this new five-year fixed-rate Isa delivers flexibility and peace of mind with unlimited withdrawals of up to 25 per cent of the capital allowed at any time."

Ms Rebecchi suggested the product would be a popular choice for investors from now until the next tax year, with the allowance for cash Isas set to increase to £5,100 on April 6th.

However, moneynet.co.uk recently reported that transfers into this account will be disallowed from April 3rd, creating a difficult choice for customers who are making last-minute decisions in a constantly changing marketplace.
