Royal London 360 recommends DGTs

Discounted gift trusts (DGTs) have been recommended by Royal London 360 as a method of introducing greater investment flexibility into people's savings strategies.

Natalie Dutton, head of marketing at the firm, made her comments following the introduction of a new trust called the Select DGT, which can be used alongside the Select investment bond.

She explained that the product is suitable for professional advisors as well as investors and expects it to be very popular, since people can allocate money to an Access Fund using the trust.

Ms Dutton remarked: "DGTs are tried and tested planning in the market place and as such are a popular choice for advisers looking to assist their UK domiciled clients in reducing a potential UK inheritance tax liability."

Last week, Royal London 360 launched the Quantum premium savings product, which is aimed at international investors and has a low minimum premium of £200 per month, with up to 600 per cent initial premium incentive.
