Labour Isa attitude is encouraging, says moneysupermarket.com

The Labour Party's proposal to introduce a code that would allow people to switch Isas more easily is an encouraging sign, according to a representative from moneysupermarket.com.

Clare Francis, site editor at the online comparison resource, explained that changing between Isa providers can often involve weeks of delays when it should be a simple process.

She claimed that this is why moneysupermarket.com called on banks to introduce a code that would allow the whole procedure to run much smoother and she described it as encouraging that Labour has pledged to action this proposal if re-elected.

"Technology has been a feature of banking for the last few years… so it's baffling why switching Isas has been so difficult for so long," remarked Ms Francis.

The general election is set to take place on May 6th and the moneysupermarket.com expert suggested that pushing for this Isa code could be a "vote-winner" for Gordon Brown's party.
