Leeds Building Society lauds simple new bonds

New fixed-rate bonds from Leeds Building Society have been lauded by the organisation for being simple and offering a good return.

Kim Rebecchi, the financial services provider's sales and marketing director, highlighted how the Bank of England's base interest rate is still at 0.5 per cent, making the firm's new bonds a great deal in her view.

The products are available for three or five years and offer a return of four per cent, with half of the original capital accessible instantly without a penalty.

Ms Rebecchi noted that straightforward accounts are currently very popular and this financial tool has the additional advantage of offering a monthly interest option.

She added: "These bonds combine a good rate of return with the peace of mind associated with access of up to 50 per cent of the initial capital invested, without notice or penalty, at any time."

This month, Leeds Building Society also announced the launch of some new additions to its five-year fixed-rate mortgage range, stating that deals up to 80 per cent loan-to-value will be available at interest rates starting from 4.85 per cent.
