Sainsbury's Finance highlights popular travel money

Head of the firm's travel money division Scott Gorman suggested that there may have been flood of last-minute holiday deals to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), since transactions involving UAE Dirham were up 122 per cent compared to a typical week.
Mr Gorman claimed that people can find the best deals on their travel money by shopping around and ordering their foreign currency well in advance.
He added: "The week before Easter is usually a busy week for people getting their foreign currency, but the difference in demand for more exotic currencies is marked."
Thailand was one of the other notable destinations in the research, with Sainsbury's Finance recording an increase of 107 per cent in the number of people exchanging money for Thai Baht.
Many travellers may currently be facing a waiting period at European airports, as a result of the recent volcanic eruption in Iceland that has led to planes being grounded.
