NS&I Inflation Beating Savings tables issued

The latest NS&I Inflation Beating Savings cash value tables have been published, following the unveiling of the March Retail Prices Index (RPI) by the Office for National Statistics.

Savings Certificates from the firm are linked with the index for a fixed period of time and are designed to ensure consumers generate real interest on their money, and the value tables allow customers the chance to work out how much they have earned.

Free from income and capital gains tax, there are currently two guaranteed compound rate issues available from NS&I, the three-year and five-year products, both of which offer interest at one per cent higher than the RPI.

The tables were released as Motley Fool director David Kuo claimed people were having to look at less traditional ways of managing their savings in light of inflation being so high.

He urged individuals to consider different products, particularly if they are thinking about the longer term.
