Tesco Bank pet insurance to be launched with RSA

Tesco Bank pet insurance is set to give a boost to its customers after it completed a deal with RSA.

The supermarket bank will now be able to offer cover for people's furry friends after joining up with the company to provide a cover management and underwriting facility.

Currently the UK's largest online pet insurance company, Tesco pet insurance covers 700,000 animals.

Existing and future subscribers to the company's policies will still be offered the same products as the bank begins to change over to RSA in the next 12 months.

Benny Higgins, chief executive of Tesco Bank said: "We … have ambitious plans to further grow our pet insurance business to develop new products and services that meet our customers' needs."

Last month, the bank announced that it was providing cover for its one millionth animal, with the company also finding that many of the pets that it provides cover for are named after their owner's favourite tipple.
