AEGON tele-claims insurance service 'receives positive response'

The AEGON tele-claims insurance facility that was trialled by the company earlier this year has received positive feedback from customers and will be rolled out to include more products.

Matt Rann, group head of underwriting and claims at the financial services provider, described how the firm had been concerned as to how its customers would react to the service.

But he noted that take-up of the tele-claims procedure increased to about 90 per cent by the end of the trial period.

"We're pleased to say that customer feedback has been positive with all agreeing that the service was very helpful, sensitive and assisted in a quicker claims decision being made," remarked Mr Rann.

The AEGON tele-claims facility had previously been rolled out for critical illness and terminal illness cases, but now income protection, permanent disability and waiver of premium will be covered as well.

An online resource was also launched by the firm last month to help people understand protection claims better.
