Invesco Perpetual reveals investment tip

Latin America offers a wealth of opportunities for investors as a result of its strong prospects for economic growth, a finance expert from Invesco Perpetual has asserted.

Dean Newman, head of emerging markets at the company, highlighted how a major factor in the region's improvement in terms of investment potential has been the development of political stability in some countries.

He drew attention to Brazil and Colombia in particular, suggesting they both have strong economic and political frameworks.

Mr Newman stated: "We expect Latin American economies to be resilient in this environment. In particular, their success in reducing government debt levels means they are in a much stronger position."

In his view, one of Brazil's strengths is the country's stock of natural resources, while a more secure oil industry has helped Colombia's global appeal.

Earlier this year, Invesco Perpetual announced its support for the Budget and the plan to increase Isa limits in line with inflation.
