Barclays Wealth Emerging Markets Optimiser 'helps to smooth volatility'

The impact of market volatility is eased by the Barclays Wealth Emerging Markets Optimiser, according to a spokesperson from the firm.

Vice-president of the company Lisa Chaudhuri made her comments after the product was reissued for investors to consider as a capital growth option.

She explained: "Our Emerging Markets Optimiser, currently in its tenth issue, helps to smooth this volatility by adjusting its exposure to emerging market equity on a daily basis."

In her view, the current state of the markets has pushed many investors to think about their unprotected equity exposure in recent weeks.

Ms Chaudhuri pointed out that the Barclays Wealth Emerging Markets Optimiser offers the return of capital at maturity, which will be a relief to many investors.

The six-year product is linked to the iShares MSCI Emerging Market Index Fund, which is exposed to 20 different areas with an emphasis on BRIC countries.

Another financial tool recently reissued by the firm is the Regular Income Bond, which was made available again last week.
