Legal & General critical illness cover 'includes improved features'

Gemma Ledbrook, Sesame Research manager, described how recent amendments to the firm's policy have "added real value".
"The critical illness market has become increasingly competitive in recent times and it is clear to see that Legal & General has made a concerted effort in improving its critical illness proposition," she stated.
Ms Ledbrook highlighted how the company has improved its children's cover, added four extra illnesses and currently provides wider definitions for 11 different disorders.
Her comments were made following an announcement by Legal & General that £152 million was paid out by the firm in critical illness claims and its policy is five-star rated by Defaqto.
Last month, the insurance provider revealed it is partnering with Bupa in order to be able to offer its clients medical cover.
