Confused.com highlights peak hours alteration

Phone users should be aware the peak hours for making phone calls have changed, according to a representative from Confused.com, who suggested companies could have done a better job publicising this change.

Gareth Kloet, head of utilities at the website, made his comments after Sky and Talk Talk revealed they will be pushing back the end of peak hours each weekday by an hour, so peak time runs from 06:00 to 19:00.

He remarked: "It is likely there were letters to those affected but we can't discount the fact that we've all been guilty of putting letters from utility companies aside to read later and forgetting them."

In his view, many customers probably are not aware of this change to the charging structure and "more aggressive publicity" would have been a better way of delivering the message.

Mr Kloet recently praised the new coalition government for committing to tackle climate change and increase the control households have over their energy costs.
