These recommendations were made by the firm after it announced that a 25 per cent discount is being offered throughout the month.
Direct Line insurance explained a home business policy with the firm will include features such as contents and stock cover, reimbursement for loss of income and public and product liability, but can be extended depending on a person's circumstances.
It listed legal expenses, buildings cover and portable business equipment insurance as some of the added options that may suit different firms.
The company suggested its 25 per cent discount is an opportunity for enterprises to reduce costs without seeing their level of cover deteriorate.
Recently, the same firm revealed Centenary Way in Trafford Park, Manchester is the most popular place for fraudsters to carry out a 'crash for cash' scam.
