Confused.com insurance notes price increase for new drivers

This is the view of the website's head of motor insurance Will Thomas, who recommended shopping around for a policy before handing over money.
His comments were made following the publication of research by Confused.com insurance, which indicated prices have increased by 6.6 per cent for drivers aged 17 to 20 during the past quarter.
"Learning to drive is an important rite of passage for most young people, but unfortunately, thanks to escalating costs of motoring due to insurance and fuel, it is becoming more and more difficult," said Mr Thomas.
Last month, the firm revealed that customers booking a policy with Privilege through the site will be able to claim cashback of £30 in June.
