Coventry Building Society debt talks 'vital'

A series of Coventry Building Society talks carried out for the benefit of a set of Year 10 students have been lauded by a representative from the financial services provider.

Corporate responsibility manager at the firm Anna Cuskin explained that the workshops taking place at Stoke Park School and Community College are teaching youngsters an "important life skill".

She described how students were asked to work through various case studies in order to learn how to budget and make sensible decisions about finances.

Roshni Patel, a student at the school, remarked: "I think it's really important that all young people can learn this, because I now feel more confident about managing my money when I start working."

The talks were held as part of the second annual My Money Week, which is running from June 28th to July 4th 2010.

It is organised by the Personal Finance Education Group and aims to educate schools and local communities about the best methods to manage their cash.
