New NatWest and RBS fixed-rate bonds offer up to 3.5 per cent interest

Savers can use NatWest and RBS fixed-rate bonds to secure annual interest of up to 3.5 per cent, depending on how much capital they invest in the products.

In order to receive this headline rate, consumers must put £5,000 or more into a two-year fixed-rate bond before Friday August 13th 2010, with the bond term beginning on September 6th.

If two years is too long for savers to commit their cash, they could opt for a NatWest and RBS fixed-rate bond, lasting just one year.

Customers will receive 2.5 per cent interest for balances of £5,000 and over, while capital investment of at least £25,000 and £50,000 will secure individuals a return of 2.75 and three per cent interest respectively.

Last month, NatWest and RBS announced the launch of their customer charter, which includes 14 points that have been written with the aid of consumer feedback regarding topics such as opening hours and queuing.
