Santander In-credit Account 'could offer significant return'

Comparison site moneysupermarket.com has suggested that putting money into the Santander In-credit Account could be a profitable move.

The company explained that the finance tool offers five per cent credit interest, which means a saver paying in a monthly salary of £2,500 could accumulate £125 in interest over 12 months.

Head of banking at moneysupermarket.com Kevin Mountford noted that people could leave their wages in such an account by funding everyday spending with a credit card.

He stressed that savers should not take the decision to borrow lightly, but if they pay off their card every month, they could receive interest on their cash and perhaps a reward from their credit card spending.

"There are so many ways to earn more from your savings; consumers just need to be clever with their finances and take advantage of free cash," explained Mr Mountford.

The Santander In-credit Account is not the only option the financial services provider offers, with the Santander Zero Account also available to consumers.
