BIBA Protect award 'a testament to hard work'

After being awarded a Trade Association Forum best practice award, the British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA) has hailed the hard work of its members for their input into making BIBA Protect a success.

The product, developed alongside Tokio Marine Europe Insurance, won the commercial initiative accolade and BIBA chief executive Eric Galbraith stated that it is a great example of the work the organisation does.

"This award is a testament to the hard work of the BIBA team and we are delighted to receive recognition from our trade association peers," he added.

According to the organisation, BIBA Protect has allowed members to increase their revenue streams and offers another option for travellers looking for alternative insurance products.

Last week, Mr Galbraith revealed that many insurance brokers are currently "incensed" about the increase in FSCS levies demanded by the Financial Services Authority.

He described them as unjustified and suggested they could lead to some members struggling to survive.
