Aviva flood advisory leaflets 'to offer practical tips'

Insurance group Aviva has created flood advisory leaflets to be included as part of its commercial renewal packs, made available from July 1st.

A flood-prediction system has been implemented by the organisation to ascertain the risk levels facing particular properties and ensure premiums are indicative of this, rather than based on postcodes.

Speaking of the development, Aviva's technical manager for property Ian Shelley noted that it will provide guidance on a range of issues and make sure that people are constantly aware of the threat of flooding.

"Although [it] may not seem an immediate threat, all businesses should be acting to mitigate the risks," he remarked, going on to state that it is always better to "prepare for the worst rather than wait until it is too late".

Similarly, the organisation also recently made amendments to its motor trade product, so as to offer greater flexibility and provide companies with the capacity to limit road risk cover to named drivers alone.
