Co-operative Financial Services community project 'crafted by young people'

The result of a Co-operative Financial Services community project has been screened this week, with a representative from the organisation highlighting how the initiative was developed by young people in the area.

Michael Fairclough, head of community and campaigns at the group, made his comments ahead of the premiere of The Perfect Burger, a film created with the help of 300 youngsters from 14 to 25 years old.

He explained that it had been the perfect opportunity for a lot of people to get first-hand experience of the film industry, which can be so valuable for those trying to find work in the sector.

The comedy-horror flick was directed by Todd Carty and starred former Birds of a Feather actress Pauline Quirk, who has appeared on Skins.

"We felt that, as The Perfect Burger was crafted by young people, it was only fitting that schools across Britain should get a chance to premiere the film," remarked Mr Fairclough.
