Facebook and Twitter can help burglars, says More Th>n insurance

More Th>n insurance has advised homeowners that burglars are using some very modern methods to assist them in their criminal activity.

Spokesperson for the firm Pete Markey explained that some burglars will use Facebook and Twitter comments to work out when people will be away from their properties.

As a result, he suggested it may not be wise to make it public exactly when a person will be leaving the house empty, since they may be putting themselves at risk.

"The research suggests that burglars still use tried and tested methods when it comes to breaking in to properties, but that they're keeping up with the times too," Mr Markey remarked.

More Th>n insurance published a study recently in which 90 per cent of reformed burglars claimed stealing items from a person's home poses no real challenge.

Recently, the same company revealed that 'romantic road rage' affects motorists, with 31 per cent getting behind the wheel after an argument with their significant other and driving aggressively.
