Tesco Mobile deal 'courts consumers'

Online firm uSwitch.com has claimed that a new Tesco Mobile deal is evidence that the supermarket is going out of its way to court consumers.

Communications expert at the company Ernest Doku explained that the brand achieves much of its success with people who have become disillusioned with the high street and have decided to rely on their supermarket for all sorts of items.

He noted that the Tesco Mobile deal incorporates two factors that the firm continually seems to aim for, which are convenience and low prices.

These comments were made after the brand revealed that it will begin selling mobile upgrades within a matter of weeks.

"Tesco has an aggressive strategy for penetrating the mobile market and this brings them another step closer to becoming a serious player," remarked Mr Doku.

In other communications news, uSwitch highlighted how BT is pushing up the price of phone tariffs for people who do not sign up for 12-month contracts.
