Axa insurance notes thievery threat

Holidaymakers are putting themselves at risk of being victims of thievery if they take expensive electronic items abroad with them, according to a spokesperson for Axa insurance.

Amanda Edwards highlighted how more expensive objects - naturally - appeal to thieves, so people need to be very careful to ensure they do not end up having to replace such gadgets.

She said: "Personal possessions cover is more important than ever these days. Our lifestyles are changing and we are carrying more and more high value, electronic items with us when we leave our homes."

Her comments were made after Axa insurance that about £7 billion of electronic items will be taken on holiday this summer by Brits.

Last week, the firm announced that its pensions guru Mike Morrison had celebrated 20 years at its Wealth arm and is looking forward to completing the next 20 years with the company.

He was described by the organisation as a "key figure" in the industry.
