Saga insurance 'tailoring content for over-50s'

Over-50s are benefiting from having online and paper documents tailored to meet their needs, says a representative from Saga insurance.

Senior press officer at the company Naomi Thornton noted that the firm is utilising several different methods to ensure that clients can read and understand the financial services they have signed up for.

She explained there is an option to make the font size bigger on the Saga insurance website, while policy documents can be ordered in Braille, audio or in a larger lettering.

"Other formats include a dedicated telephone line where you can type in the questions - which is very helpful," added Ms Thornton.

The Saga representative pointed out that it is not only policy documents that customers can receive in different forms, but marketing material as well.

Last month, new research by the firm indicated that more than half of over-60s are utilising equity release to help them free up cash to make home improvements and fund holidays.
