Barnsley Building Society four-year bond 'offers regular income'

Consumers who want a regular income from their cash may be interested in a new Barnsley Building Society four-year bond, a spokesperson for the firm has suggested.

Senior product manager for savings at the organisation Sarah Lawrence lauded the "ease and convenience" of the company's online facilities.

In her view, it is this sort of system that will encourage people from the "iGeneration" to sign up for such products at the company.

The Barnsley Building Society four-year bond requires a minimum opening balance of £100 and offers 4.25 per cent and 4.17 per cent gross interest on annual and monthly arrangements respectively.

"This bond is ideal for customers looking for a regular income and don't require access for the full four-year term," remarked Ms Lawrence.

Barnsley Building Society also launched a fixed-rate Isa this week, which pays three per cent interest until the end of 2011, which the firm stated is four times more than consumers might receive from a cash Isa.
