Halifax urges customers to compound current account interest rates with credit card

A new credit card from Halifax could help customers to get more cash back from their financial products, according to the firm.

The company explained that the Halifax Clarity credit card rewards customers with £5 each if they spend £300 or more each month, giving a possible annual incentive of £60.

This amount can be doubled if customers are signed up to the Halifax Reward current account, which offer £5 cash back if at least £1,000 is deposited into the account each month.

Halifax stated that the Clarity credit card was launched last month and features a typicalk APR of 12.9 per cent, with no cash, balance transfer or foreign exchange fee charged on such transactions.

The firm also highlighted how the cash given back to clients from this account is tax free.

This week, the organisation also claimed that people could find a good deal of money down the back of the sofa, with Halifax estimating there may be £42.9 million in such places in the UK.
