Ian Hallett, director of personal current accounts, made his remarks regarding the Halifax Reward product, which gives £5 tax-free cashback if the user deposits more than £1,000 in a month.
The financial tool features all the benefits of a standard Halifax account, such as a debit card, 24-hour telephone and online banking facilities and direct debit options, as well as the money-back bonus, which can be achieved every month of the year.
"Customers looking for a bank account with long term rewards need look no further. With the Halifax Reward current account they can earn up to £60 each year," explained Mr Hallett.
Halifax recently published research showing that the total value of privately-owned housing stock has more than doubled in the ten years between 1999 and 2009 to reach £3,755 billion.
