Sainsburys Finance Gold Credit Card 'useful at home and abroad'

Customers signing up for the new Sainsburys Finance Gold Credit Card will find it is not only useful overseas, according to a source at the company.

Stuart McKeggie, head of credit cards at the organisation, highlighted how the account offers a competitive APR and double Nectar points.

He pointed out these features are available in addition to the perks designed to save money while customers are away on holiday or in another country on business.

"Up until now cards aimed at travellers have been designed for use outside the UK, offering no benefit for those using them at home," said Mr McKeggie.

Research by Sainsburys Finance shows that about £309 million is withdrawn by Brits during an average two-week holiday, which suggests the fee-free product could save people money.

According to research by the firm, 1.28 million people each year do not book their holidays until less than two weeks before the date they intend to go.
